ETHNICITY

In their novel Farewell to Manzanar, Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and James D. Houston tell of the forced relocation of Japanese Americans to internment camps after the bombing at Pearl Harbor. 

 

After the war, those interned at Manzanar and other camps were released and assimilated back into American society.  The transition, and the discrimination many faced was difficult to understand.
