AFRICAN MONARCHS

In 1960, the British left Nigeria. The newly independent nation was made up of many diverse tribes that had no shared history. Ethnic conlict broke out soon after,

Nigerian photographer George Osadi's Nigerian Monarchs project was an attempt to unify the country's diverse ethnic groups and portray the rich traditions of Nigeria by photographing some of the country's monarchs.
