TANK MAN

In 1989, Chinese student-led pro-democracy protests erupted in Beijing's Tianamen Square.  The protesters called for an end to government corruption, lack of transparency and freedom of speech. On June 4th, Chinese troops attempted to clear the square and opened fire on crowds of unarmed civilians, killing hundreds.
